Registration
The heatAlert service is for people in Sussex who could benefit from receiving alerts when hot weather events are forecast. Knowing 24 to 48 hours prior to a heatwave and when, where and how long a period of extreme hot weather is forecast will help individuals manage their health conditions, prepare by ensuring the home is cool, and to stay safe and well during the heatwave.
The service is FREE to subscribe to and open to everyone, it could be especially beneficial to older people, carers and people with respiratory and cardiovascular health conditions.
We recommend you register for heatAlerts if you:
- Have a respiratory condition, heart or circulatory condition, or are affected extremes in temperature
- Have young children or work in a childcare setting
- Care for an elderly relative or friend
- Are a health professional dealing in elderly care of respiratory conditions, or work in a GP surgery or clinic
- Provide nursing care or work in a care home
